It’s been quite awhile since I’ve shown up in this space! I hope you follow me on Instagram which I add to regularly, if not…no worries. We moved to Camano Island in NW Washington the fall of 2018, 7 years ago today! We lucked into the most fabulous neighborhood possible. A small diverse, foodie friendly neighborhood of 50 homes. We’ve made life long friends, and enjoyed every minute of it. We’ve hosted a neighborhood potluck twice and will continue to do so.
One of my greatest joys since coming to the island is my garden. My veggie garden grows and expands every year! This year, our garden was so abundant. My first harvest was 200 heads of garlic. Our garlic is all hard-neck, but that didn’t deter me from trying to make braids! I finagled a way to tie the bundles together with fishing line and kitchen twine. I sold 12 bundles at $20 each. Farm-stand inspiration, phase one!

My love of gardening, a sales and marketing background, and a love beautiful flowers, all culminated into my weekly farm-stand. I also love to bake, but rarely do as we just don’t eat that many treats. That changed, when I decided I could sell things. This week I added cinnamon rolls to my offerings and they were a hit. I’ll be adding home-made doggie treats next week and maybe chocolate chip cookies.

In addition to produce, I also offer Pesto made with our garlic and basil, as well as half-sour, very garlicky, refrigerator dill pickles. I’m almost sold out of pickles for the year.

Here are links to the recipes I have used for my pesto, pickles and cinnamon rolls . I altered each recipe a bit, to suit my preferences. Feel free to do the same!

It was great to catch up! I hope you enjoyed this post. Have a great evening.
Laura
